Lucy and Max

On April 19, 2007 this precious little girl made her entrance in the world and changed our lives forever:
Lucy Catherine is our oldest, and our only daughter.  She is now 3 (and a half!) and she's very, very good at being 3.  Lucy is loud, loves to ask questions, and is smarter than me already.  Lately, she has taken to doing simple math in her head, which is something she must have inherited from her engineer daddy and grandfather, because she certainly didn't get any math skills from me.  She is our greatest challenge and our greatest joy all wrapped up in a 32 pound, 38 inch tall little girl.

34 months later, on February 23, 2010, this little guy made his big entrance into the world:
Meet Max.  We were surprised but delighted to discover that our second child would be a boy.  Max made quite an entrance, making the doctor chase him into the world and weighing in at 9 pounds 2 ounces and 23 inches long!  Yes, that's right, almost 2 feet of baby.

These days, our sweet 7 month old is still a big boy.  He is the sweetest, most laid back little guy and I am so blessed to be his mama.  Max just learned to sit up and thinks it's the best trick ever.  Now he's trying to learn how to move and actually get somewhere.  I am no hurry for him to learn that trick, but I am enthralled at watching him try.  He loves his big sister and puts up with quite a bit of abuse at her hands.  She loves him a little too much at times, but my husband (who is also a little brother) says it will make him stronger.  :)  Little brothers of the universe unite!!

The Beginning

After lots of thinking I would do this....someday....I have finally decided to start blogging.  I'm not quite sure what I am getting into.  I'm just hoping that I can use this to preserve our season of life right now.

A season of life that is very full..... of a precious 3-year-old who says the craziest things and loves life, of a sweet 7-month-old baby boy who is just beginning to explore the world and has the best belly-laugh ever, of a precious husband (of almost 5 years!) who works so hard to provide a great life for all of us.

As for me, I'm just a mom who loves her kids.  A mom who works full-time as a special education teacher and loves every minute of it.  A mom who wants her kids to grow up to love and serve the Lord.

So, this is it for beginnings.....maybe this blogging thing won't be so scary after all.
